MUMBAI (Web Desk) – Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor has revealed that he proposed to Alia Bhatt in Kenya’s Maasai Mara wilderness while three lions were nearby.
Ranbir shared the memorable story on the television programme Kaun Banega Crorepati 18, where he appeared alongside the team of his upcoming film Ramayana.
The actor said he had instructed his guide, who was also driving the vehicle, to stop at a particular spot in the middle of the wilderness. He had also brought a ring with him and planned to get down on one knee to propose to Alia.
Host Amitabh Bachchan jokingly remarked that there should also be evidence of such a special moment.
Recalling the proposal, Ranbir said three lions were standing about 100 metres away, while his “lioness”, Alia, was in front of him as he knelt and asked her to marry him.
Ranbir described the experience as one of the most beautiful moments of his life, saying he would always remember it.
Ranbir and Alia’s friendship developed into a romantic relationship in 2018 while they were working on the film Brahmastra.
Ranbir proposed to Alia in 2022, and the couple married on April 14, 2022, at their home in Mumbai.
