SARGODHA (Dunya News) - Police have registered a case against an ASI after an old man died in an illegal custody of the police officer, Dunya News reported here on Tuesday.
According to police sources, ASI Sarfraz raided a house and arrested an old man along with four others. During custody, the cop allegedly subjected the man to torture, insult and abuse, which led to his alleged death.
The victim was identified as Ghulam Shabir. Police said a case was registered against the policeman for illegal custody and abuse.
Investigation was underway. A thorough probe will ascertain the cause of the old man’s death. If the ASI was found guilty of keeping the man illegal custody and torturing, he will be brought to justice, police sources said.
