Five killed in rocket launcher, gun attack on Shikarpur house

SHIKARPUR (Dunya News) – Five people - four of them members of the same family - were killed in a rocket launcher and gun attack by a group of their rivals in Goth Bechanji near Town Chak, here on Wednesday night.
Armed men from Badani Tribe attacked a house belonging to Shar Tribe. After surrounding the house, the attackers fired a rocket launcher, resulting in a loud explosion.
Five people in the house were killed as a result of the explosion and firing. Among those killed were the owner of the house, Abdul Khaliq Shar, his two sons Khalid Shar and Raja Shar, brother Abdul Sattar Shar, and guest Abdul Jabbar Shar.
After the incident, panic spread in the area while the attackers managed to escape. As soon as the information was received, a large contingent of police reached the spot and cordoned off the area and started investigation.
According to a thorough investigation, the incident is a result of long-standing tribal enmity. The bodies have been shifted to hospital for medicolegal procedure. The situation in the area is tense, while additional police have been deployed to deal with any further untoward incident.
