COLOMBO (Dunya News) - Sahibzada Farhan became the second Pakistani cricketer to score a century in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup.

Farhan played a magnificent unbeaten knock of 100 runs in a crucial group-stage match against Namibia, guiding his side with a commanding performance.

The century marked his maiden T20 International hundred and placed him in elite company.

He joins Ahmed Shehzad, who was previously the only Pakistani batter to achieve the feat.

Shehzad scored his century during the 2014 edition of the tournament against Bangladesh.

Notably, this was the third century of the ongoing T20 World Cup — a significant milestone considering that no previous edition of the tournament had witnessed more than two centuries.

Earlier in the tournament, Pathum Nissanka of Sri Lanka struck a hundred against Australia, while Yuvraj Samra of Canada scored a century against New Zealand.

During the match against Namibia, Farhan delivered one of the standout innings of the tournament.

Opening alongside Saim Ayub, he helped Pakistan race out of the blocks with fluent strokeplay.

The pair added 40 for the first wicket before Jack Brassell dismissed Saim for 14 from 12 balls, which included two fours.

Farhan, however, continued to dominate.

Reaching his 10th T20I half-century earlier in the innings, he accelerated seamlessly and brought up his maiden T20I century in the 20th over.

His unbeaten 100 came from 58 deliveries and featured 11 fours and four sixes.
