BANGKOK (Dunya News) - Pakistan made a winning start to the Women’s Asia Cup Rising Stars tournament by defeating Nepal in their opening match in Bangkok, Thailand.

After winning the toss, Nepal opted to field first and invited Pakistan to bat in the 20-over contest.

Pakistan posted a competitive total of 137 for 6 in their allotted overs. Captain Hafsa Khalid led from the front with an unbeaten 40 runs, while Waheeda Akhtar contributed a valuable 23 runs.

For Nepal, Kabita Kunwar claimed two wickets, while Manisha Upadhyay, Riya Sharma, Sita Rana Magar and Rubina Chhetry picked up one wicket each.

Chasing a target of 138, Nepal managed 107 for 6 in their 20 overs. Bindu Rawal scored 39 runs, while Kabita Kunwar remained unbeaten on 18.

Pakistan’s bowlers maintained control throughout the innings, with Anosha Nasir taking three wickets.

Momina Riasat claimed two, and Waheeda Akhtar added one wicket to seal a comprehensive victory for Pakistan.
