Ahead of the PSL 11 auction, proposed new local player categories emerged, with several stars retaining Platinum status while others were promoted or demoted across Diamond, Gold and Silver tiers
LAHORE (Web Desk) - Ahead of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11 players’ auction, a list of proposed new categories for local players has surfaced.
According to sources, several key players have either retained their categories or moved up or down across Platinum, Diamond, Gold and Silver brackets.
Islamabad United’s Shadab Khan, Imad Wasim and Naseem Shah have been retained in the Platinum category. Sahibzada Farhan has been placed in the Gold category, while Salman Ali Agha and Mohammad Nawaz have been promoted from Diamond to Platinum.
Wicketkeeper-batter Azam Khan has moved from Diamond to Gold. Karachi Kings’ Hasan Ali has been upgraded from Diamond to Platinum, while Abbas Afridi has shifted from Platinum to Diamond.
Sources said Khushdil Shah and Aamer Jamal have moved from Diamond to Gold, and Arafat Minhas from Gold to Silver. Shan Masood has been retained in the Diamond category.
Lahore Qalandars’ Shaheen Afridi, Fakhar Zaman and Haris Rauf remain in the Platinum category.
Salman Mirza has moved from Gold to Diamond, while Mohammad Naeem has shifted from Emerging to Silver.
For Peshawar Zalmi, Babar Azam and Saim Ayub remain in Platinum, while Mohammad Haris and Mohammad Ali have moved from Diamond to Gold. Multan Sultans’ Mohammad
Rizwan has been retained in Platinum, while Usama Mir and Iftikhar Ahmed have moved from Platinum to Diamond.
Mohammad Hasnain has shifted from Diamond to Gold, and Aaqib Javed has moved up from Silver to Gold.
Sources further said Quetta Gladiators’ Faheem Ashraf and Mohammad Amir remain in Platinum, while Abrar Ahmed has been promoted from Diamond to Platinum. Wasim Junior has moved from Gold to Diamond, Usman Tariq from Silver to Diamond, while Khawaja Nafay from Silver and Hasan Nawaz from Emerging have been placed in the Gold category.
