LAHORE (Dunya News) - The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to auction the Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Multan Sultans, following strong investor interest shown in recent franchise sales.

According to sources, the PCB had earlier announced that it would manage Multan Sultans on its own during PSL 11. However, in a new development, the board has now opted to put the franchise up for sale through an open bidding process.

Sources said the decision was taken after the auction of two new PSL teams exceeded the PCB’s expectations. The strong prices fetched by the new franchises encouraged the board to move forward with the sale of Multan Sultans as well.

The PCB believes this is the most suitable time to auction the franchise, given the growing interest from local and foreign investors. Multan Sultans will be offered through open bidding, and an official advertisement is expected to be issued soon. A formal announcement will be made after reviewing all legal aspects.

Officials are optimistic that Multan Sultans will attract a competitive price, especially after the record-breaking sale of two new franchises and increased interest from international investors.
