PSX stages recovery as KSE-100 gains 1,300 points

Summary PSX’s KSE-100 Index rebounded 1,315.72 points, or 0.78%, in early Tuesday trading, recovering after a sharp 2,541-point decline in the previous session.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) staged a recovery on Tuesday a day after it witnessed significant decline.

During early session, the benchmark KSE-100 Index gained 1,315.72 points, or 0.78%, to reach 169,286.37 points.

The index recorded an intraday high of 169,988.11 points and a low of 169,189.29 points. Trading volume stood at 25.60 million shares, while the market was reported open.

The recovery followed a weak session a day earlier, when the KSE-100 Index fell 2,541.20 points, or 1.49%, to close at 167,970.66 points, compared with the previous close of 170,511.86 points.

During the previous session, trading volume in the ready market reached 570.472 million shares, down from 687.467 million shares in the preceding session. The total traded value also declined to Rs24.672 billion from Rs33.705 billion.

Market capitalisation fell to Rs18.728 trillion in the previous session, compared with Rs19.016 trillion recorded a day earlier.
