ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The federal government has increased the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel, with the new rates taking effect after midnight for a one-day pricing period.

According to a Petroleum Division notification, the price of petrol has been increased by Rs1.08 per litre, taking it from Rs342.79 to Rs343.87 per litre.

The price of high-speed diesel (HSD) has also been raised, increasing by 51 paisas per litre to Rs370.92 per litre.

The latest adjustment comes shortly after the government had revised petroleum prices for the new pricing period beginning September 1. The earlier rates had set petrol at Rs342.79 per litre and high-speed diesel at Rs370.41 per litre.

The revised petrol price means consumers will now pay Rs343.87 for every litre purchased, while diesel consumers will face a rate of Rs370.92 per litre.
