Summary The State Bank of Pakistan's Monetary Policy Committee will meet today to decide the policy rate for the next six weeks after reviewing inflation, economic indicators and global developments.

KARACHI (Dunya News) –The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) will hold an important meeting today to decide the interest rate for the upcoming six weeks.

During the meeting, the committee will conduct a detailed review of the overall inflation situation in the country, key economic indicators and the possible impact of ongoing tensions in the Middle East on Pakistan’s economy.

Following the discussion, the committee will announce its decision regarding the policy rate. The SBP governor will later hold a press conference to issue the monetary policy statement and brief the media about the interest rate decision.

It is pertinent to mention that the State Bank of Pakistan has maintained the policy rate at 11.5 percent since April 27.
