KARACHI (Dunya News) - Pakistan State Oil (PSO) has appointed Jawad Ahmad Cheema as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

According to details, Jawad Ahmed Cheema will assume charge as CEO from May 18, 2026. His appointment has been made for a three-year term with approval from the PSO Board.

He will replace acting CEO Abdul Sami.

The new CEO brings over 28 years of extensive experience in the energy sector and has served in key roles across Asia, Europe, and other regions.

Jawad Ahmad Cheema has previously served as CEO of Shell Pakistan and also held the position of Vice President for Strategy and Portfolio at Shell Plc.

Moreover, he has recently worked as CEO of Karachi Hydrocarbon Terminal. With the new leadership at PSO, expectations have been expressed for improvements in the energy sector.
