Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb meets US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick in Washington to boost trade, investment, and economic cooperation, highlighting IT, mining, minerals, and energy sectors
WASHINGTON (Dunya News) - Pakistan’s Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb held a meeting with US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick in Washington to discuss ways to enhance trade and investment between the two countries.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Finance, both leaders expressed interest in promoting American investment in Pakistan’s IT, mining, minerals, and energy sectors. They reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening economic cooperation and welcomed the upcoming US-Pakistan Trade and Investment Forum scheduled for March 31, 2026.
The forum is expected to host leading companies from both countries, along with ministerial-level participation. Finance Minister Aurangzeb may also take part in the US Department of Commerce’s sessions during the forum.
Officials noted that both sides agreed to maintain continued engagement on investment in large-scale projects and strategic sectors to further economic ties.
