Summary According to Indian media, earthquake measuring 4.9 on Richter scale jolted North India on Monday.

Powerful quake jolts were felt in New Delhi and the adjoining north region in Noida, Faridabad, Ghaziabad and Gurgaon on Monday, Indian media reported.The tremors were also felt in parts of east Punjab, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.The earthquake occurred at about 1:11 pm local time.The epicenter was at Bahudargarh close to the Delhi-Haryana border. The tremors were felt for about 15-20 seconds.There have been no reports of loss of life or property, so far. Chances of aftershocks are not very high.
