Summary Saudi coalition says 5 drones were destroyed near Madinah and eastern regions. Yemeni forces claim 200 Houthis killed in 744 attacks as Riyadh airport resumes limited flights under strict restrictions

RIYADH (Dunya News) – The Saudi-led military coalition has claimed that five drones heading towards Madinah and eastern regions of Saudi Arabia were destroyed before reaching their targets.

According to the coalition spokesperson, the drones were intercepted during a defensive operation. Further details about possible damage resulting from the reported incident were not provided.

Meanwhile, Yemen’s military has claimed that 200 Houthi fighters were killed during the ongoing operation, “Fajr Al-Yemen,” against the group.

Yemeni military spokesperson said forces carried out 744 attacks against the Houthis over a 24-hour period. He stated that the strikes targeted Houthi command centres, fighters and weapons depots.

According to the spokesperson, Yemeni forces also halted a Houthi advance in Taiz province.

In a separate development, King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh has resumed limited air traffic under strict conditions after being temporarily closed on October 10 following recent Houthi attacks.

According to a new Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) issued by Saudi Arabia’s Civil Aviation Authority, prior approval from the authority is mandatory for flights arriving at and departing from Riyadh airport.

The notice also prohibits the use of Riyadh as an alternate airport during emergencies for security reasons.
