RIYADH (Dunya News) - Eid-ul-Fitr is being celebrated today with religious zeal and devotion in Saudi Arabia, Gulf countries, and many parts of the world.
The largest Eid congregations were held at Masjid al-Haram and Al-Masjid an-Nabawi, where millions of worshippers offered Eid prayers, creating spiritually uplifting scenes.
King Salman Extends Global Eid Greetings
King Salman bin Abdulaziz extended Eid greetings to Muslims worldwide, reaffirming his commitment to global peace, stability, and the unity of the Muslim Ummah.
In his Eid message, King Salman stated that Saudi Arabia has made continuous efforts to support global peace and maintain security through a firm approach in dealing with ongoing regional crises.
He said, “We ask the Almighty to grant victory to our brave soldiers stationed on our borders. May He protect our homeland, the Islamic nation, and the entire world, and bless us with lasting security and prosperity.”
The King added, “Eid Mubarak to you all,” and thanked Allah for the blessings bestowed upon the Kingdom, especially the honor of serving the Two Holy Mosques.
He emphasized that Saudi Arabia has dedicated all its resources to this sacred responsibility and will continue to ensure the comfort and safety of pilgrims, calling it the core mission of the nation.
Tensions at Al-Aqsa and Eid Under Shadow in Lebanon
On the other hand, Israeli forces prevented Palestinians from offering Eid prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque, leading to tensions in the area.
In Lebanon, Eid is being observed under the shadow of ongoing Israeli aggression, while Iran will celebrate Eid tomorrow.
Eid Celebrations Across Turkey, Yemen, Palestine, Iraq, and Australia
Eid is also being observed today in Turkey, Lebanon, Yemen, Palestine, and Iraq.
In Australia, Anthony Albanese visited a mosque in Sydney, joined Muslim communities, and extended Eid greetings.
Eid Observed Today in the United States and Europe
The Shawwal moon has been sighted in the United States, where Eid-ul-Fitr is being celebrated today.
A large number of Muslims in the United Kingdom and across Europe have also announced celebrating Eid today.
Eid Celebrations in Moscow
In Russia’s capital Moscow, Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated with full religious enthusiasm, with arrangements completed at mosques and designated locations across the city.
The main Eid congregation will be held at the central mosque in Moscow, where the spiritual leader of Russian Muslims Sheikh Rawil Gaynetdin will deliver the sermon and lead the Eid prayer scheduled for 7 am.
Large gatherings are also expected at the historic mosque, the memorial mosque “Shuhada,” and other mosques, with additional spaces designated for worshippers.
Officials stated that all mosques will remain open, with strict security arrangements in place.
The central Eid ceremony will also be broadcast on Russia 1 so more people can participate. Congregations will also take place in Moscow’s suburban areas, with worshippers arriving from early morning.
Eastern Countries to Celebrate Eid Tomorrow
Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Malaysia, and other eastern countries have not sighted the Shawwal moon and will celebrate Eid tomorrow.
According to Indian media, the moon sighting committee in Delhi confirmed Eid-ul-Fitr will be observed on March 21. Similarly, Bangladesh and Indonesia have also announced that Eid will be celebrated on March 21 after the moon was not sighted.
