A state of emergency was declared in more than 10 districts in Serbia late on Thursday due to a heavy snowfall covering the whole country, according to Predrag Maric, a leading official of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.Heavy snow that started on Tuesday has affected traffic in cities like Belgrade, Nis and Valjevo, with snow accumulated up to 10 centimeters deep in the Serbian areas bordering Bulgaria and Montenegro. Some bus lines from northern Kosovo to Belgrade were forced to close on Thursday.Heavy snow also blocked traffic to some villages in mountainous areas, with schooling suspended. It also brought a power cut in large areas in the southwest, including Zlatibor and Uzice, with more than 80, 000 local residents daily life affected.
