Summary At least 2 people were killed as motorists went sliding throughout southwestern Ontario Thursday.

There was a 25-car pileup on Highway 402 in Ontario, Canada amid the snowstorm just after 10am. The Special Investigation Unit for the province is now probing the crash after two people died.Due to the collision, which included two fire trucks and a police car, that part of the highway was closed so that officials could investigate what happened.The Highway 402 crash happened in the eastbound lanes after the stretch of road to the east of Forrest Road was hit with blowing snow. Some cars ran into each other while some cars slid off into ditches.Aside from the Warwick fire trucks and Ontario Provincial Police cruiser, there was also an emergency response vehicle caught up in the damage, according to a Lambton police staff sergeant.The Nauvoo Road section of Highway 402 was closed in both directions while emergency crews attended the scene. Ontario Provincial Police expected it to stay closed during the evening as they removed the vehicles and completed their investigation.
