Summary The wife of a governor of an Argentine province was arrested as charged with killing of her husband.
The wife of the late governor of the Argentine province of Rio Negro, Carlos Soria, was charged in connection with his death after he was fatally shot early on New Year´s Day.Soria, seen here with his wife, Susana Freydoz, was found dead shortly after 5 in the morning local time (0800 GMT) at his ranch in General Roca, Rio Negro.Judge Emilio Stadler opened an investigation and released a report saying the only people in the Soria home with the governor at the time of his death were his wife, one of their daughters and her boyfriend.The report continues saying the only person in the room with Soria at the time of the incident was his wife. However, police have not yet said if Sorias death was the result of foul play or an accident.The case has been passed on to Judge Juan Pablo Chirnios who confirmed that Freydoz is a suspect in the governors death and explained the Rio Negro legal process in this case.In Rio Negro a person is considered the defendant from the very moment they are investigated.Soria supporters marched through the streets of General Roca, the largest city in the province, in a show of solidarity for the man who also served two terms as mayor of the city.Soria was elected governor of Rio Negro in September 2011 and had only taken up his position on December 10.
