Summary Over a dozen people died when a tanker truck burst into flames on a Venezuelan highway.
At least 14 people died in Venezuela after a gasoline tanker exploded along a main highway on Thursday, engulfing several cars and a bus in flames.According to Fire Chief William Martinez, the truck overturned on the Panamerican Highway, spilling 36,000 litters of gasoline which caused at least 8 cars and a bus to catch fire.The accident occurred along the Panamerican Highway, outside of the capital city of Caracas, at around 1600 local time.Witnesses said the tanker was speeding and was spilling gasoline before it reached the site of the crash.The driver of the tanker truck, 30-year-old Tulio Estenique, was not injured in the crash and has been detained. Authorities said he will be taken to court on Thursday evening and charged in connection with the fatal accident.
