Summary Telecom scam petitioner dubs India's Interior Minister Palaniappan Chidambaram as habitual offender.
Telecom scam petitioner Subramanian Swamy on Saturday dubbed Indias Interior Minister Palaniappan Chidambaram as habitual offender and said he is confident of proving the involvement of the minister in several cases of corruption.Swamy spoke to mediapersons in New Delhi before appearing in the Patiala House Court. We may also consider to bring in section 13 (1) to say that Mr. Chidambaram is habitual offender and that is also a crime. I will prove all this in Chidambarams case that there are many cases of corruption against him which are slowly coming to light, said Swamy.Swamy would present himself before the court, as a complainant and his statement, on why Chidambaram should be named as the co-accused in the case, would be recorded. The telecom scam petitioner also said that Chidambaram has several cases against him including the eviction of Indian Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev from the Ram Lila Grounds in New Delhi where he held a protest against Black money, and that it would not be easy for him to get out of it.Swamy said that Chidambaram thinks that he is a lawyer and can have an alibi but it can boomerang. The court had on December 08 allowed Subramanian Swamy to appear as a witness against Indias Interior (Home) Minister, Palaniappan Chidambaram, for his alleged involvement in the multi-billion dollar 2G spectrum allocation scam. The court had then said that other witnesses would be allowed to testify only after he explained their relevance to the case.
