Summary Somali refugees in Yemen are desperate to leave as the situation has been getting worse in Yemen.

Somali civilians have kept fleeing the country to Yemen due to prolonging conflict, insecurity, drought and famine in Somali. However, with unstable political situation in Yemen, these refugees couldnt find jobs for months and life there was tougher than they had imagined. Some 100 Somali refugees, mostly women and children, stay in the refugee camps in Sanna, capital of Somalia. They fled Somalia in the hope of living better in Yemen, but the reality just failed them.Nora has been in Sanna for two months. She has never eaten her fill during the two months except a lunch offered by a rich person in Yemen. She worries that her kids might get ill as they have no place to stay and there are no clinics in the refugee camp. She is desperate to leave Yemen, just like other refugees. We only have two thoughts in our mind right now. Send us home and we would rather die in our own country instead of here. Or send us to other countries, where we can find jobs, buy daily necessities and live, said Nora, a Somali refugee.Officials of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) said that they have provided financial assistance, psychosocial assistance and legal counseling to the refugees. They also have asked for other countries to receive refugees, but so far Yemen is their only option. The UNHCR doesnt provide settlement. Its up to countries to receive refugees and we made recommendations. But in the current context, its very hard for refugees to be resettled out of Yemen, said a staff with the UNHCR.The United Nations humanitarian aid groups arrived in Sanna on Saturday, aiming to settle the problem of large number of refugees from Somalia and other countries in Yemen.
