India’s Parliament quickly adjourned soon after opening its winter session because of renewed protests from opposition lawmakers.The 21-day session that began Tuesday is expected to debate a bill creating a government ombudsman. That was a key demand of anti-corruption protests over the summer.The session is also expected to deal with bills on education, pensions and judicial standards. However, soon after it began Tuesday lawmakers began shouting protests against everything from rising prices to allegations of government corruption.Both chambers of the house were quickly adjourned for the day. Parliament lost almost all of last year’s winter session to opposition protests.
