Yemeni forces kill 6 al-Qaida-linked militants

Months of battles have failed to fully restore the governments control over the city of Zinjibar.It is one of several places in the south seized by Islamic militants during the spiraling unrest triggered by the uprising against President Ali Abdullah Saleh.The security official says six soldiers were wounded in Saturdays fighting.The official was speaking on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to brief reporters.Anti-government protests continued Saturday. In the capital, Sanaa, a U.N. envoy met Yemens vice president Saturday to push for a transition of power. He also visited a field hospital and met with anti-Saleh protesters.
