Former chief minister of Indias southern Karnataka state, B S Yeddyurappa, was admitted to the hospital in Bangalore city after he complained of chest pain on Sunday (October 16). Yeddyurappa was sent to jail pertaining to his involvement in the land denotification scam.According to media reports, 68-year-old Yeddyurappa had high blood pressure and vomited a couple of times while in the jail. However, doctors said his condition is stable.Yeddyurappa currently faces severe charges of graft and was summoned by the provincial ombudsmans (Lokayukta) court in provincial capital Bangalore on Saturday after a case was filed against him, by the regional Janata Dal (Secular) party leader, Y.S.V. Datta, last month.Yeddyurappa surrendered before the court after bail was denied to him and was sent to a local prison on Saturday (October 15). Documents in the public domain point towards Yeddyurappas sons, Raghavendrea and Vijayendra, benefiting from the elevation of their father to the post of deputy state chief in 2006.According to reports, the Yeddyurappas sons got their hands on prime land at a fraction of its market value, owing to their connections. Similar allegations have been made against other members of Yeddyurappas family as well as ministers and other functionaries in his government.
