A Yemeni military official says a blast at a police station in the countrys south has killed one soldier and wounded seven others.The official says al-Qaida militants are suspected to be behind the attack in the town of al-Qalouaa in Aden province. He spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the press.Al Qaeda-linked militants have seized several towns in southern Yemen, exploiting a growing security vacuum since mass protests calling for the ouster of President Ali Abdullah Saleh began in February.Demonstrators rallied in the capital, Sanaa, and other cities Saturday against Saleh, who has managed to cling to power despite escalating domestic and international pressure to resign.
