Summary Kashmiris on both sides of LoC and world-over observed Indian Independence Day as Black Day.
They conveyed the message to New Delhi that it has no moral justification to celebrate its Independence Day as long as it continues to deny the Kashmiri people their inalienable right to self-determination.The day was marked by complete strike in occupied Kashmir, the call for which was given by APHC Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader Syed Ali Gilani and other pro-liberation leaders.The Indian-occupation authorities had put in place stringent restrictions in Srinagar and other towns to prevent people from holding demonstrations.
