Summary Egypt former President Hosni Mubaraks trial has been adjourned till September 5.
The judge trying Egypts former President Hosni Mubarak for the killing of protesters wrapped up Monday’s (August 15) session and said the court would reconvene on Sept. 5 to begin hearing evidence in the case.Judge Ahmed Refaat ordered that the trial be merged with that of former Interior Minister Habib el-Adli and said TV coverage of the trial would end until sentencing takes place. “The court has decided, firstly, to join case number 2642, for the year 2011 with case number 1227, for the year 2011 in order for the procedures of both cases be dealt with in conjunction with each other,” he said.The announcement was met with cheers in the courtroom. After the judges declaration Hosni Mubarak - lying in a hospital bed was wheeled out of the courtroom cage and into an ambulance. He was joined in the cage by his sons Alaa and Gamal. The trial is taking place at the police academy in Cairo.Around 850 people were killed during the uprising and over 6,000 wounded when security forces fired live rounds, rubber bullets and used water cannons and batons against protesters.
