Irans President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad expressed his support for nations wishing to have freedom of choice and enjoy justice and said he regretted that some leaders, such as former Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak, had bad relations with the people.During an interview with a French TV channel, the Iranian president strongly rejected foreign intervention in Syria.We think that nations have the right to have freedom of choice and enjoy justice but we think if others do not interfere in the Middle East affairs, these nations are able to solve their own problems, he said.Ahmadinejad also defended his countrys human rights record.What happened in Iran is not similar to what is going on in certain countries. A totally free election was held in Iran. The freest election ever held. More than 85% of voters took part in this election, i.e. 40 million people are living together they are all Iranian citizens. But attacking buildings and cars is forbidden in any country and of course that is what the police as well as the judiciary look into, he said.When asked about the house arrest of opposition leaders Mirhossein Mousavi and Mehdi Karroubi, Ahmadinejad said, There are prisons everywhere. They have problems with the judiciary. The judiciary in Iran acts independently and I dont have the right to interfere in the judicial affairs.
