Summary Hosni Mubarak's chief doctor says ousted Egyptian president is refusing to eat or drink.
The news has increased speculation he wont stand trial next week as scheduled. Assem Azzam described Mubaraks physical state as almost stable, but said he suffers from severe depression. He said Tuesday doctors would consider feeding Mubarak intravenously if his condition deteriorates.Mubarak has been under house arrest in a hospital in the Red Sea resort town of Sharm el-Sheikh since April after being forced from power by a mass popular uprising. Rumors about his declining health have been rife.Critics suspect they are a ruse to sway public opinion to prevent Mubarak from standing trail on charges of corruption and killing protesters during the uprising. His trial is to begin Aug. 3.
