Summary 8 people including a local intel chief was killed in security-related incidents in Afghanistan.

Militants stormed a police station in Kandahar city on Wednesday killing the commander of the station and sparking an ongoing gun battle. Four policemen were killed and three injured. Two of the Taliban were also killed in retaliation by security forces. District Police chief was also amongst those killed. A bicycle bomb killed four people and wounded 11 others in the northern Afghan city of Mazar-i-Sharif.
