These schools allow students to wear Hijab unlike mainstream institutions where the French government has banned full veils. The faith schools are among seven schools where wearing Hijab is allowed.A school’s principal, Abdul Fateh, said the schools prefer to admit girls wearing Hijab as they couldn’t attend mainstream schools. He said even the teachers who wear Hijab find the schools their ultimate option to teach.This had led to popularity of the faith schools. The students and teachers wearing Hijab have been subjected to hate crimes in some areas. The principal said Muslim parents prefer to send their kids to the faith schools as they feel safe.
