Summary At least seven people were hurt when a 5.4 magnitude earthquake rattled central Japan.

The Japan Meteorological Agency said the quake hit in Nagano, some 170 kilometers (105 miles) northwest of Tokyo. The quake was just four kilometers (2.5 miles) deep. No tsunami warning was issued, the agency said.According to the Nagano fire department officials, seven people were injured in the quake, but none was in critical condition.
