A Tunisian court sentenced former president Zine el-Abidine Ben Ali and his wife Leila to 35 years in jail after being found guilty of theft.In addition to the lengthy sentences, the court ordered that the former president and his wife pay fines of $66 million, adding that the judgment only covered part of the charges against him and would rule on others at a later date.More than 30 members of Ben Ali and Trabelsis family were arrested after the fall of the family, some of whom have been since charged with economic crimes and abuse of power.The former president and his wife are living in Saudi Arabia nowadays.
