Summary Clash between students and police left dozens of people injured in Chilean capital Santiago.

Police fired water cannons on Chilean students as the protest for educational reforms got out of hand in Santiago. An estimated 7,000 students had taken to the capitals streets to demonstrate against what they believed was a lack of governmental support for their studies.Chile has seen a number of educational protests across the country in recent weeks, ranging from striking universities to students occupying their high schools.Students are also demanding repair of their institutions that were damaged during the February 2010 earthquake.
