Summary Thailand customs confiscated hundreds of endangered turtles and reptiles at the Bangkok airport.

Thai customs officials seized 400 endangered turtles which were worth US$ 33,000 as they foiled a smuggling attempt at the Bangkok airport. The turtles were illegally being transported in suitcases in a flight from Bangladesh.Thai officials also seized seven freshwater crocodiles worth US$ 330 each. They were found in small bags packed into cases after authorities received a tip off that a known trafficker was on his way to Thailand.
