BRICS countries should continue deepening dialogue, coordination and cooperation in the international economic, financial and development fields, said Chinese President Hu Jintao at the press conference after the BRICS leaders summit.“In todays BRICS leaders meeting, we reached several agreements after the discussion with Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and South African President Jacob Zuma on strengthening cooperation with BRICS member countries. We welcomed South Africa to join us. Under the big background of political mutipolarity and economic globalization, the development trend of peace, development and cooperation has increased” said Chinese President Hu Jintao.Leaders of the five emerging economies vowed to support the reform and improvement in international monetary system for the establishment of a stable, reliable and broad-based international reserve currency system. The BRICS leaders meeting was chaired by Chinese President Hu Jintao and attended by Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and South African President Jacob Zuma.The five countries urged joint efforts to intensify international financial supervision and reform while enhancing their policy coordination as well as financial regulation and supervision cooperation to promote the sound development of global financial markets and banking systems.
