Summary Hillary Clinton has urged Arab states to embrace economic and political reforms.
Speaking to the Arab and the United State policymakers, the US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said that it was an open question whether Arab nations would make genuine political and economic reforms or whether the Arab Spring would ultimately prove a mirage.She said, “Today the long Arab winter has begun to thaw. For the first time in decades, there is a real opportunity for lasting change. A real opportunity for people to have their voices heard and their priorities addressed.”Clinton spoke against the backdrop of the popular revolts that spurred public protests in much of the Arab world, including Libya, Bahrain, Syria and Yemen.
