Summary No lives were lost in the destruction caused by the violent storms in Augusta and Merrill.
The intensity of the storm was such that houses were destroyed, roofs were torn from buildings, trees and electricity poles were downed and thousands of residents lost power.According to Wisconsin Public Service, more than 60 houses were destroyed and due to the damaged electricity poles, more than 1,700 customers were without power in Merrill. The flow of traffic was also disrupted as fallen trees were blocking the roads.
