Summary Strong protest broke out in the country after the funeral prayer of the dead.
A Syrian rights group said on Sunday that 26 protesters had been killed in the southern city of Deraa after security forces opened fire on a peaceful gathering of protesters.Demonstration in several Syrian cities and towns were reported. The protesters said that at least 123 people were killed since the protests were started but the government denied this figure, saying that only 23 people were killed in the riots. The protests in Syria are the continuation of the wave of change started from Egypt in the Arab speaking countries.
