Libyan President Moammar Gaddafi turned down truce offer by the rebel forces and vowed that his forces will not leave the cities under their control. Gaddafi said that the allied forces are committing a crime against humanity by killing civilians in the Libyan cities.On the other hand, Defence Secretary Robert Gates and Admiral Mike Mullen, while addressing the congress, said that the United States would withdraw from the attacks on Libya but would continue to support the NATO forces.They said that the US would not launch any attack on Libya but their naval warship and submarine would remain in the Mediterranean. If, however, the situation worsens, the US will consider launching cruise missiles on the government forces, they said.Meanwhile, military and civilian areas of the Al Khums and Al Rojban regions were under attack of the rebel forces.
