Summary Libyan rebels claimed that they captured Sirte, the hometown of President Moamar Gaddafi.
The coalition warplanes first time bombed Sirte, a stronghold of Gaddafi, on the night between Sunday and Monday. According to a news agency at least nine powerful explosions were heard in Sirte on Monday morning.Meanwhile, the allied planes continued their bombardment on the capital, Tripoli, which had been rocking all night by the anti aircraft guns. People are facing an acute shortage of water and food in Tripoli.Earlier, the rebels recaptured two important oil installations.
