(WebDesk) - It is said that it takes 100 % reason to remember the name, surely it does. Today on the 100th Birthday of late Nelson Mandela the world is remembering this legendary personality for his sacrifices and his tireless and sincere efforts towards serving humanity.
An apartheid revolutionist and humanitarian, Nelson Mandela was born in 1918. The former president of South Africa, Mandela, stood up against the racial segregation in his own country. He organized and carried out peaceful protests and resistance movements against racial oppression, for which he was sent to jail for 27 years. However, his hopes were not shattered, after coming out he determinly fought for equality and eventually succeeded in uniting the nation.
Mandela, spent his entire life advocating for peace, justice and human rights. Even after retiring from politics, the noble price winner continued to promote peace all over the world until his death. In 2009, United Nations declared 18th July as Nelson’s Mandela’s day.

At this special occasion, a new book “The Prison Letters of Nelson Mandela’’ is out. Compiled by Sahmt Venter, a senior researcher at Mandela Foundation, this book is comprised of personal letters to his wife, children and closest friends, which he wrote inside the prison. This book entails a heartbreaking struggle against apartheid.
In remembrance of his accomplishments and determined efforts, many celebrities and recognized institutions are using social media platforms to pay tribute to Nelson Mandela on his 100th Birthday.

The former president of United States, Barack Obama, on Tuesday addressed to honour late Nelson Mandela on his 100th anniversary of his birth. He referred Mandela as a mentor and said that it is the time to renew the legacy of Mandela to have a world subjugated by equality and peace.
An accomplished and inspiring public speaker, Nelson Mandela changed the closed mindset of people through the power of words. His triumph over racism and all kind of anti-humanitarian activities is a beacon of hope for us to never lose hope and always stand for the righteous.

The personalities like him are rare, a divine gift to the people who have set up an inspiring examples for us to be followed.
