Summary US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said violence unleashed against Libyan protesters is completely unacceptable and we are focusing on the safety of several thousand American citizens in Libya.
Addressing a joint press conference in Washington with Latvian Foreign Minister Girts Valdis Kristovskis, Clinton called the bloodshed in Libya, which might have claimed hundreds of victims, completely unacceptable and said it is the responsibility of Libyan authorities to respect the universal rights of their people. She also stated that measures will be taken upon this issue in the Security Council meeting today.
