Summary Yemen President Ali Abdullah Saleh refused to resign and called for a national dialogue.
Protesters across the country have called for the end of Salehs 32-year rule. Addressing a conference he said that if anyone wants to come in power, come in a civilised way through parliamentary elections or the presidential elections.In a concession to protesters, Saleh has previously promised to step down when his term ends in 2013 and not to hand power to his son. A coalition of opposition parties has agreed to talk to him, but protests have continued. The president blamed the opposition for the political deadlock.He said that he would put forward a package of reforms in an extended meeting with parliament and the shoura council. The reforms package was agreed upon after demands from the brothers in the opposition, but unfortunately after the reform package was put forward and received the peoples support, the demands were raised.
