Summary Animal welfare groups protested in China against the magic tricks applied by the magicians on animals including fish on the occasion of annual Lantern Festival.
These activists have demanded the Chinese government that these magic tricks should not be featured in live TV shows. These animal welfare groups were of the view that the act could be potentially harmful to the fish and it could lead to the deaths of animals.
