Summary A small plane with 10 passengers and two crew members on-board crashed in heavy fog on Thursday on the runway at Cork Airport in southern Ireland.
Local media, citing the local county council, said six people had been killed in the crash. No one from Cork County Council was immediately available to confirm the reports. The IAA said the metroliner SW4, which was en route from Belfast in Northern Ireland, had crashed after making several attempts at landing. Flights were being diverted from Cork airport. Rescue crews were trying to put out a fire on the runway and debris was said to have been scattered over a wide area.
