Malaysian authorities formally identify Kim Jong-nam as victim of airport attack

WEB DESK (Dunya News) – Kim Jong-nam, the half brother of North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un, has formally been identified by the Malaysian police as a victim of the fatal attack at Kula Kuala Lumpur s airport.

The announcement came as the Malaysian cabinet officials confirmed that the victim was Kim Jong-nam.

It is worth mentioning here that the announcement is the first official confirmation by the Malaysian authorities after the fatal killing of Kim Jong-nam on Feb 13th.

Meanwhile, North Korea has not acknowledged the victim as Kim Jong-nam while also demanding the custody of the body that Malaysia has not handed it over.

It is worth mentioning that Kim Jong-nam carried a passport under the name of Kim Chol when he was attacked at the Malaysian airport.

However, as Malaysian police confirmed the victim as the half brother of North Korean dictator, National Police Chief Khalid Abu Bakar didn’t disclose as to how the police identified Mr Kim.

The police officials also confirmed that no family member has come forward to claim the body.
