NEW YORK (Dunya News) – A special programme was arranged in New York’s Brooklyn area for Pakistani community on the occasion of International Women’s Day (Wednesday).
The programme was arranged by social worker and APNA adult day care director Pervaiz Siddiqui and Shazia Khatoon.
He asserted that the programme was organized for those women who fulfill both household and professional responsibilities.

Pervaiz Siddiqui said that women have an important role in the society’s development.
“Our women are taking care of their families are doing jobs. Our society remains a cohesive one due to women. We should recognize, motivate and appreciate them,” he said.While talking to Dunya News, the women said that they were proud of being a woman.
They stressed that Pakistani and Muslim women are playing a pivotal role in the society.
“I am proud of being a woman. I am a mother, daughter and a businesswoman. Pakistani woman have been on high positions in the past and are also working in various industries at present,” said one woman.

“We are celebrating Women’s Day here. We were not only playing our part in Pakistan but are also performing it in US,” said another.
Flowers were distributed among the women at the end of the programme.
