According to the latest revelations of Wikileaks, Pope Benedict was against the inclusion of Turkey in the European Union (EU)due to its Muslim identity. On the other hand Julian Assange, the chief of Wikileaks, has been shifted to separate jail. According to Wikileaks' reports Pope Benedict was against the inclusion of Turkey in the European Union. Pope Benedict was of the view that a Muslim country should not be a part of EU. Th secret cable of an American diplomat posted in Rome further states that the diplomat advised Washington to work for the inclusion of Turkey in the EU. It has also been disclosed in the secret cable that Vatican is developing diplomatic links with all the countries of the world as well as the UNO and that it also pressurizes some countries. It pressurized Iran in 2007 to free the arrested British citizens. The cable also reveals that Vatican sent message to Barack Hussain Obama to lay pressure on the Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez to stop supporting Cuba.
