AHMEDABAD (Web Desk) - The Indian Navy has made it clear that the explosion heard inside its base in Gujarat s Porbandar was firecrackers.

"The news of explosion is erroneous. It was a firecracker that exploded near the Porbandar naval base," the Navy said in a statement.

The mysterious explosions near the Indian naval base on Friday morning had alarmed the security agencies and the local police, which rushed to the spot.

Top Indian police officials said they have, till now, found nothing suspicious in or around the naval base.

The Indian Navy is on high alert after killing of 17 soldiers in September 18 attack on army camp in Occupied Kashmir s Uri town.
